CAOB Mission
The Construction Association of Bermuda (CAOB) is dedicated to making the construction industry safer, more efficient, more competitive
and better able to contribute to the development of Bermuda.
"When a customer chooses an Association member as a contractor, they can do so with confidence."
The Construction Association of Bermuda is a not-for-profit association. The Association aims to fairly represent members and promote the
concerns of the construction industry amongst members, Government and other sectors of the economy.
It also aims to maintain the standards of the construction industry and to encourage its membership to fulfill their obligations in good
faith. The Construction Association of Bermuda is a self-monitoring organization assuring the skill, integrity and responsibility of its
members.
40 years of service
Founded in 1967 the Construction Association of Bermuda has always aimed to be the 'voice' of the construction industry on the island. The
original charter members were:
- Adderly Brothers Ltd.
- Bermuda Mechanical Co. Ltd.
- Burland Conyers and Marirea Ltd.
- Canber Electric Ltd.
- Carr Construction Co. Ltd.
- Hollis Construction Co. Ltd.
- Salisbury Construction Co.
- Sealand Construction Ltd.
- Shore Lee Enterprises
- Universal Electric Ltd.
This has grown to over 70 companies in 2007, employing more than half of all people working in the construction industry. The founding
directors of the Association were:

- Bill Lishman - Honorable Secretary/Treasurer

- Coles Diel drafted first Constitution
